Life Skills for Puppies
Real-life skills taught in real life environments!
Service Description
Real-life skills for real-life puppies! Give your puppy the very best start and super-charge your training with this practical, real-world skills course designed for committed puppy owners. The Super-Pup Skills Course focuses on building calm, confident, well-mannered puppies who can cope with everyday life. Over four weeks, classes are held in progressively more challenging real-world locations so you and your puppy learn how to successfully negotiate the environments you actually live in — not just a training hall. This course is ideal for owners who want more than basic puppy classes and are keen to put solid foundations in place early. 🔹 Limited to just 6 puppies 🔹 Puppies must be under 18 weeks old at the start of the course Course Structure Week One – Amy Millward Dog Training Paddock (near Meidrim) We begin by laying down strong foundations in a safe, calm and controlled environment. Focus, engagement and core life skills are introduced here. Week Two – Laugharne (Main Car Park) Introducing new distractions and environments, with an emphasis on focus, calm behaviour and responsiveness away from home. Week Three – Carmarthen (John Street Car Park – parking charges apply) Learning to safely and confidently negotiate roads, traffic, and busier public spaces. Week Four – Carmarthen Museum Car Park Bringing everything together amidst real-world distractions such as smells, people and other dogs. Plus the opportunity to practice coming when called in open spaces. What to Bring to Class Please ensure you bring the following each week: • A harness or flat collar • A lead (maximum 2 metres — no extendable leads) • At least four times the number of treats you think you’ll need, cut into small pieces (Soft, smelly treats work best — e.g. JR Pâté, sausage or chicken) • Your dog’s favourite toy (if toy-motivated) • Poo bags • An ID tag with owner’s surname, address and telephone number
